Solarize NOVA

About Solarize NOVA

Solarize NOVA is a community-based outreach initiative that reduces the cost and complexity of going solar by providing a one-stop-shop for education and installation. Solarize NOVA is part of the larger Solarize Virginia campaign, managed by the Virginia nonprofit Local Energy Alliance Program (LEAP). LEAP delivers energy-efficient solutions in Virginia to make homes safer, healthier, and more affordable while reducing energy usage and mitigating climate change.

Solarize uses a competitive bidding process to vet and select installers who then agree to offer discounted prices. Our 2024 NOVA installers are Solar Energy World and Convert Solar.

Solarize Virginia began in 2014 as a community-based outreach initiative to bring solar power to people in their homes and businesses throughout Virginia through our solarize campaigns. The program is executed in partnership with local governments, and other supporters.

Since 2014, 1,410 Virginia households have made the switch to solar through Solarize Virginia, generating more than 12.7 MW of solar capacity. Last year alone, 292 Virginia residents went solar through Solarize, 223 of which were in Northern Virginia.
